Gallbladder removal for Sophie: covering what insurance won't

Sophie was diagnosed with gallstones with repeated infections in August. The surgeon at Boulogne-Billancourt Regional Medical Center recommended gallbladder removal, and She is scheduled for October. The hospital's financial office gave us a written estimate of $3,250, and after what our health plan will pay we're still $2,600 short.
my sister has been in and out of Boulogne-Billancourt Regional Medical Center since August. The doctors say gallstones with repeated infections will get worse without gallbladder removal. We have emptied our savings and borrowed from relatives, but the estimate of $3,250 is more than we can find.
While we wait, Sophie struggles with daily life and can't lift anything heavy. Her family has taken turns caring for her, and I've cut my own work hours to be there.
Rehabilitation is expected to take about 12 weeks. During that time Sophie won't be able to lift anything heavy, so the costs keep growing.
