The Hashemi family fled Ukraine - help them rebuild in Albany
Help a family of 5 start their new life in Albany: furniture, rent deposit and language classes.

My family left Ukraine 11 months ago after the war reached our town. We spent time in a camp before we were resettled in Albany. We're a family of six and we're safe, but we arrived with very little.
Our resettlement agency has provided 4 months of rent, and that support ends in August.
I was a teacher in Ukraine, and I'm studying the language every evening. Our daughter and son have started school and are doing well.
We want nothing more than to be self-sufficient. This fund will help us through the first six months.
Funds are managed by a local church-run settlement group, a registered organization, which pays the landlord and suppliers on the family's behalf.
Where the $2,550 goes:
• Language classes and bus passes: $470
• Winter clothing and school supplies: $610
• Rent deposit and first month: $1,250
• Phone and internet for school and job search: $220
I never thought I'd be the one asking, and I'm grateful for every bit of support.

Praying for you. Hope you get there. My daughter saw me on my phone and now she wants to give her pocket money. Take care!
Hope things get better soon. Shared this with my family. This is the second need I've supported on here and the first that made me cry. Take care.
Shared this with my family. Don't lose heart. A few weeks ago I was in a hole too and it changed faster than I expected. God bless!
Thanks for sharing this. Gave what I could, wish it was more. Put this on a community board in Davao City this morning.
Wishing you peace. Gave what I could, wish it was more. My husband and I read this together. Thinking of Albany.
Thinking of you, Dennis. This could happen to any of us. Please keep us posted. Greetings from Mekelle
Best of luck. Your post was clear and honest. I have a 9 year old who wants to send good wishes too
so sorry you're going through this, Dennis. Reading this made my day a bit heavier but I'm glad I did. Don't be hard on yourself for asking
