Surgery fund for José: palate reconstruction surgery in São Paulo
A scheduled palate reconstruction surgery in September is out of reach without help covering $2,150 of the cost.

In July I was diagnosed with a deviated septum causing chronic infections. My surgeon at São Paulo General Hospital recommended palate reconstruction surgery, and I have been placed on the schedule for September. The hospital's financial office gave me a written estimate of $3,050, and after what my employer's plan will pay, I'm still $2,150 short.
Doctors at São Paulo General Hospital told me a deviated septum causing chronic infections will get worse without palate reconstruction surgery. I work as a care assistant, and I have saved what I can, but the estimate of $3,050 is far beyond what I've.
Until the surgery I can't work full days, and my hours as a care assistant have already been cut. Every week of waiting means more pain and a bigger risk.
The recovery period is expected to take about 12 weeks. I'll not be able to drive during that time, so this has become a financial emergency as well as a medical one.
