A stair-climbing aid for Eliane: help me move freely

A stair-climbing aid would give Eliane independence - we're $2,100 away.

I live with cerebral palsy. My occupational therapist at the Caruaru Mobility Clinic has assessed me and recommended a stair-climbing aid. The public scheme doesn't cover it, and the quote from the supplier is $2,100. My current equipment is 15 years old and keeps breaking, which has confined me to home for 7 weeks. With the right equipment I could speak with the people around her. It would change my everyday life and my ability to work from home. We've applied to two charities already and received small contributions; this campaign covers the rest. Funds go toward the equipment, delivery, fitting and a year of servicing. Where the $2,100 goes: • stair-climbing aid: $2,000 • Delivery and set-up: $50 • Fitting and training sessions: $50 Even a small gift gets used right away and I'll thank you myself.

Updates from Eliane

  1. Wanted to say thank you properly. 7% funded and I made the first payment toward delivery and set-up.

  2. Good news. Because of your gifts ($40 in total) I met with the supplier and confirmed the amounts. Still a way to go but it feels less lonely.
