Fighting non-Hodgkin lymphoma: help Fatima afford treatment in Soweto
8 rounds of treatment are planned at Soweto Regional Medical Center; we're asking for help with the costs insurance doesn't cover.
🇿🇦 South Africa1,079 views
Fatima was diagnosed with non-Hodgkin lymphoma in November. The oncology team at Soweto Regional Medical Center has planned 8 rounds of treatment, starting in February. She will be away from work for about 10 weeks.
Fatima is 24, worked as a tailor until November, and has always been the one who looks after everyone else. Now it's our turn to look after her.
Treatment is covered only in part. Medication that isn't on the approved list, trips to Soweto Regional Medical Center 5 times a week, and the income the family has lost add up quickly.
We've already sold what we could and have begun borrowing for groceries. Every kindness from you takes weight off her shoulders.
Funds will be used only for treatment, medication, transport to appointments and essential living costs during treatment.
Where the $2,250 goes:
• Chemotherapy and medication not covered: $1,150
• Scans and lab work: $350
• Transport to Soweto Regional Medical Center: $185
• Nutrition and supplements prescribed by the care team: $140
• Household costs while unable to work: $425
Whatever you can give, even just sharing this page, means a lot.

is there a list of costs somewhere? Just curious how it adds up for Fatima.
The list at the bottom is the whole picture. chemotherapy and medication not covered is the biggest at $1,150. Thanks, that means a lot.
