The Freedom health centre yard needs a youth football pitch - Joyce's neighborhood project
A community-led a youth football pitch at the Freedom health centre yard that will serve 151 neighbors.

For twelve years the neighborhood has asked for a youth football pitch. This year a group of 10 volunteers, including a retired civil engineer, decided to stop waiting. The council has given permission for the Freedom health centre yard, but no funding.
We have received donated tools, and the remaining cost is $2,450.
It will serve about 151 people, including elderly neighbors living alone. We'll hold a build day in November and everyone is invited.
We're a small team, and every dollar will be spent in the open - I'll post receipts and progress photos.
Funds are spent only on materials, permits and safety equipment; all labor is volunteered.
Where the $2,450 goes:
• Materials: $1,600
• Permits and inspections: $105
• Safety equipment and signage: $230
• Tools hire and delivery: $515
