Marcus's cataract surgery can't wait - please help us cover the bill

Marcus was diagnosed with a herniated spinal disc in August. The surgeon at Auckland University Hospital recommended cataract surgery, and He is scheduled for November. The hospital's financial office gave us a written estimate of $4,550, and after what my employer's plan will pay we're still $3,400 short.
my son has been in and out of Auckland University Hospital since August. The doctors say a herniated spinal disc will get worse without cataract surgery. We have emptied our savings and borrowed from relatives, but the estimate of $4,550 is more than we can find.
While we wait, Marcus struggles with daily life and can't walk without help. His family has taken turns caring for him, and I've cut my own work hours to be there.
Rehabilitation is expected to take about 6 weeks. During that time Marcus won't be able to walk without help, so the costs keep growing.
