Gauri was diagnosed with a herniated spinal disc in March. The surgeon at Kanpur University Hospital recommended laparoscopic endometriosis surgery, and She is scheduled for June. The hospital's financial office gave us a written estimate of $940, and after what our health plan will pay we're still $750 short.
my mother has been in and out of Kanpur University Hospital since March. The doctors say a herniated spinal disc will get worse without laparoscopic endometriosis surgery. We have emptied our savings and borrowed from relatives, but the estimate of $940 is more than we can find.
While we wait, Gauri struggles with daily life and can't look after the children alone. Her family has taken turns caring for her, and I've cut my own work hours to be there.
Recovery is expected to take about 12 weeks. During that time Gauri won't be able to look after the children alone, so the costs keep growing.

is there a list of costs somewhere? Just curious how it adds up for Gauri!
Post-operative medication is $55 of it. Everything else is listed in the story and nothing outside that list comes out of this page. It helps to be asked.
