Stop the eviction: 5 months of rent for Samantha's family in Springfield
After a car accident, Samantha is 5 months behind on rent and has a termination letter from the landlord.

After a car accident that kept me from work for 12 weeks, I fell 5 months behind on rent. Last Friday a termination letter was taped to my door, and the amount I owe is $4,600.
My landlord has been understanding for a while, but he has now been clear: if the arrears aren't cleared by October, we must leave.
I have two young children at home. Moving isn't just an expense - it would mean new schools, a new commute and no deposit to put down anywhere else.
I have started working evenings as a cleaner, and I'm applying for help from local services, but nothing will arrive in time without the rest of the gap covered here.
The money will be paid directly to the landlord and I'll upload the receipt once it's done.
Where the $4,600 goes:
• Rent arrears (5 months): $3,300
• Late fees and court costs: $175
• Utilities in arrears: $195
• First month of rent as a buffer: $930
Glad we found this place.

gave what I could, wish it was more. I went through something like this 13 years ago and strangers helped me out. Blessings.
Thinking of you, Samantha. Gave what I could, wish it was more.
Hope you get there. We're a small family in Iloilo City but we're thinking of you.
Shared it with a few friends. Love from Huntsville.
Sending love, Samantha. I was in a similar spot a few years ago and it did get better. I have a 12 year old who wants to send good wishes too. Thinking of Springfield.
