Clean air and water for Jakarta: restoring Union Creek
Help us clean and replant Union Creek before the October planting window closes.
🇮🇩 Indonesia1,387 views
Union Creek has been used as an informal dump for years. This August, 91 neighbors turned up for a first cleanup, filling 82 bags in a single morning. Now we want to restore it for good.
We have a plan agreed with the local forestry office, including native species selected by a local botanist.
The area floods more each year, and fish have returned for the first time in a decade after our first cleanup. Restoring it will protect homes and bring back shade.
All the labor is volunteered. We just need materials.
We'll post planting day photos and a count of every sapling planted.
Where the $200 goes:
• Waste removal and skip hire: $120
• Signage and educational materials: $35
• Tools and protective gear: $45
Glad we found this place.

Is there a list of costs somewhere? Just curious how it adds up for Mulyadi.
Sure. The biggest one is waste removal and skip hire, $120. The rest is in the list at the bottom of the post and I'll upload receipts as I pay each one. Ask me anything else.
Hope it all works out, Mulyadi. I hope things turn around soon. My late mom used to say help given quietly counts double. Take care.
hang in there. Hope this works out for you. I hope October is when things finally get easier.
hope it all works out. This could happen to any of us. Greetings from Pune
