Stop the eviction: 2 months of rent for Cengiz's family in Istanbul
After a delayed insurance payout, Cengiz is 2 months behind on rent and has a notice to vacate from the landlord.

When my hours were cut in half in September, I fell 2 months behind on rent. Last Saturday a notice to vacate was taped to my door, and the amount I owe is $800.
My landlord has been understanding for a while, but he has now been clear: if the arrears aren't cleared by January, we must leave.
I have three school-aged children at home. Moving isn't just an expense - it would mean new schools, a new commute and no deposit to put down anywhere else.
I have started working extra hours at a market stall, and I'm applying for help from local services, but nothing will arrive in time without the rest of the gap covered here.
Funds go to the landlord and nowhere else. Any amount left over after the arrears are cleared will go toward next month's rent.
Where the $800 goes:
• Utilities in arrears: $30
• First month of rent as a buffer: $280
• Rent arrears (2 months): $490

is there anything that isn't money that would help Cengiz?
So sorry you're going through this. Gave what I could, wish it was more. My husband and I read this together.
So sorry you're going through this. I hope things turn around soon. Thinking of Istanbul.
Take care, Cengiz. I've been in a tough spot myself and it does get easier. Greetings from Jinja
