A solar-powered water pump for the Cedar health centre yard: help our neighbors in San Francisco
A community-led a solar-powered water pump at the Cedar health centre yard that will serve 372 neighbors.

For twelve years the neighborhood has asked for a solar-powered water pump. This year a group of 17 volunteers, including two retired carpenters, decided to stop waiting. The council has given permission for the Cedar health centre yard, but no funding.
We have received donated tools, and the remaining cost is $2,550.
It will serve about 372 people, including local farmers and market traders. We'll hold a build day in November and everyone is invited.
We're a small team, and every dollar will be spent in the open - I'll post receipts and progress photos.
All purchases will be made by two volunteers and logged publicly. Surplus funds will go to maintenance.
Where the $2,550 goes:
• Materials: $1,700
• Permits and inspections: $290
• Safety equipment and signage: $360
• Tools hire and delivery: $200
Even a small gift gets used right away and I'll thank you myself.

You're not alone. Hope this works out for you. We had a similar scare last year, I know what it feels like. Take care.
sending love, David. Hope the build day goes well, wish I lived closer. My neighbor had a similar thing happen so this one hit home. Love from Addis Ababa
