Start-up fund for Mongkol: reopening a barbershop after floodwater
A barbershop in Phuket needs help replacing clippers, chairs and mirrors after floodwater.
🇹🇭 Thailand1,495 views
For six years I have run a barbershop in Phuket. In September, floodwater took clippers, chairs and mirrors. I have no insurance, and the bank won't lend to me.
Before that, my customers came every Wednesday, and I employed 2 people from the neighborhood. I have been out of business for 10 weeks.
This business pays my children's school fees and rent. I have already started working from home in small ways, but I can't meet orders without proper equipment.
Every contribution brings me closer to reopening, and I promise to post photos as I buy each item.
I'll buy equipment from local suppliers and post photos and receipts as I go.
Where the $950 goes:
• Shop repairs and licensing: $140
• Replacing clippers, chairs and mirrors: $670
• Working capital for the first month: $140
Glad we found this place.

Praying for you, Mongkol. Shared this with my family. I hope November is when things finally get easier
hope it all works out, Mongkol. I'd happily buy from you once you're back up. Greetings from Los Angeles.
how is Mongkol doing now?
Hope it all works out, Mongkol. It takes guts to ask. Well done. Don't lose heart. A few weeks ago I was in a hole too and it changed faster than I expected.
Rooting for you. Gave what I could, wish it was more. I'm in retail myself and wanted you to know we're cheering for you!
Sending good thoughts, Mongkol. I hope things turn around soon. Love from Bang Khen
stay strong. Everyone deserves a bit of help sometimes. After 6 years in accounting I know how hard it's to ask for anything. Take care.
