Back to business - Balaji's comeback in Chennai
A tailoring shop in Chennai needs help replacing three industrial sewing machines after the demolition of the market.

For nine years I have run a tailoring shop in Chennai. In July, the demolition of the market took three industrial sewing machines. I have no insurance, and the bank won't lend to me.
Before that, my customers came every Thursday, and I employed 2 people from the neighborhood. I have been out of business for 4 weeks.
This business pays my children's school fees and rent. I have already started working from home in small ways, but I can't meet orders without proper equipment.
Every contribution brings me closer to reopening, and I promise to post photos as I buy each item.
Once I'm back on my feet I plan to hire back the people I had to let go.
Where the $200 goes:
• Working capital for the first month: $45
• Shop repairs and licensing: $45
• Initial stock: fabric and thread: $110
If you can't give, please share this page. It does reach people.

Hope it all works out, Balaji. I'd happily buy from you once you're back up. I'm in hospitality myself and wanted you to know we're cheering for you. Love from Mumbai.
hang in there, Balaji. Your post was clear and honest.
Take care. Small businesses are the heart of Chennai. Hope you're open again soon. I went through something like this 4 years ago and strangers helped me out. All the best
