Standing with Kwesi: colon cancer treatment costs
Kwesi is facing colon cancer and the cost of treatment, travel and care at home is far beyond what the family can cover.

In June I was diagnosed with colon cancer. My oncology team at Madina Regional Medical Center has planned 4 rounds of treatment, and the first starts in October. I was told to expect about 10 weeks away from work.
I never imagined I'd be writing something like this. I'm 35, I worked as a hairdresser until June, and I have been the main earner for my household.
Treatment is covered only in part. Medication that isn't on the approved list, transport to Madina Regional Medical Center 4 times a week, and the income I have lost add up quickly.
My family is doing everything they can, but we've already sold what we could and are borrowing for groceries.
Funds will be used only for treatment, medication, transport to appointments and essential living costs during treatment.
Where the $1,050 goes:
• Nutrition and supplements prescribed by the care team: $75
• Household costs while unable to work: $300
• Transport to Madina Regional Medical Center: $90
• Chemotherapy and medication not covered: $585
