Hugo is facing non-Hodgkin lymphoma and the cost of treatment, travel and care at home is far beyond what the family can cover.

Hugo was diagnosed with non-Hodgkin lymphoma in February. The oncology team at Brooklyn University Hospital has planned 8 rounds of treatment, starting in May. He will be away from work for about 6 weeks.
Hugo is 25, worked as a primary school teacher until February, and has always been the one who looks after everyone else. Now it's our turn to look after him.
Treatment is covered only in part. Medication that isn't on the approved list, trips to Brooklyn University Hospital 2 times a week, and the income the family has lost add up quickly.
We've already sold what we could and have begun borrowing for groceries. Every kindness from you takes weight off his shoulders.
I'll post every invoice and receipt as an update so donors can follow where each gift goes.
Where the $9,850 goes:
• Chemotherapy and medication not covered: $5,750
• Scans and lab work: $1,450
• Transport to Brooklyn University Hospital: $660
• Nutrition and supplements prescribed by the care team: $730
• Household costs while unable to work: $1,260
