Gondar
For ten years the neighborhood has asked for a sensory garden for children with autism. This year a group of 14 volunteers, including the parish youth group, decided to stop waiting. The council has given permission for the Baobab health centre yard, but no funding. We have received donated soil and plants, and the remaining cost is $600. It will serve about 105 people, including elderly neighbors living alone. We'll hold a build day in October and everyone is invited. We're a small team, and every dollar will be spent in the open - I'll post receipts and progress photos. Funds are spent only on materials, permits and safety equipment; all labor is volunteered. Where the $600 goes: • Materials: $440 • Permits and inspections: $40 • Safety equipment and signage: $45 • Tools hire and delivery: $75 Ask me anything below before you decide. I'd rather you were sure.

So sorry you're going through this. This could happen to any of us. It's not much but it's yours. All the best.

    • hope it all works out. Great idea, hope you get there. We had a similar scare last year, I know what it feels like.

      • Wishing you the best. Hope the build day goes well, wish I lived closer. It's not much but it's yours. Love from Los Angeles.
