Rides to dialysis three times a week for Swati in Auckland

A rota of drivers to the Auckland Kidney Centre would keep Swati on treatment. Even one trip a week helps.

Swati has been on dialysis for 5 years and until recently drove to the Auckland Kidney Centre alone. After surgery on their hand, Swati can no longer drive. Taxis cost more than the family can pay three times a week. We're building a rota of volunteer drivers. Each session is 3 hours, including the trip there and back; most volunteers take one regular day. The journey is about 10 km each way. Swati is cheerful company. You'd need a car in good condition and a clean driving record. We'll cover your fuel costs, and the family will send you home with homemade food. Please say which day works for you in the comments. You're what makes this possible, and I'll never forget it.
