Ricardo was diagnosed with cervical cancer in July. The oncology team at La Plata Regional Medical Center has planned 8 rounds of treatment, starting in October. He will be away from work for about 7 weeks.
Ricardo is 48, worked as a nurse until July, and has always been the one who looks after everyone else. Now it's our turn to look after him.
Treatment is covered only in part. Medication that isn't on the approved list, trips to La Plata Regional Medical Center 3 times a week, and the income the family has lost add up quickly.
We've already sold what we could and have begun borrowing for groceries. Every kindness from you takes weight off his shoulders.
Funds will be used only for treatment, medication, transport to appointments and essential living costs during treatment.

• Nutrition and supplements prescribed by the care team: $145
• Transport to La Plata Regional Medical Center: $145
• Chemotherapy and medication not covered: $1,500
• Scans and lab work: $360
