My family left Myanmar 13 months ago after we were targeted for our work. We spent time in a camp before we were resettled in Bahir Dar. We're a family of six and we're safe, but we arrived with very little.
Our resettlement agency has provided 2 months of rent, and that support ends in September.
I was a teacher in Myanmar, and I'm studying the language every evening. Our daughter and son have started school and are doing well.
We want nothing more than to be self-sufficient. This fund will help us through the first six months.
Funds are managed by the Bahir Dar Welcome Table charity, a registered organization, which pays the landlord and suppliers on the family's behalf.
Where the $200 goes:
• Winter clothing and school supplies: $80
• Beds, table and basic furniture: $115
• Phone and internet for school and job search: $5
Thank you so much.

Shared it with a few friends. After 20 years in accounting I know how hard it is to ask for anything
Hope things get better soon, Yodit. Hope this works out for you. God bless
Hope it all works out, Yodit. Shared it with a few friends. It's not much but it's yours. Thinking of Bahir Dar.
Sending good thoughts, Yodit. Shared this with my family. Read this on the bus and kept thinking about it all day
Hope it all works out. This could happen to any of us. My mother had a similar thing happen so this one hit home. Blessings.
