Neha was diagnosed with a thyroid nodule that needs removal in May. The surgeon at Saint Matthew Hospital recommended laparoscopic cyst removal, and She is scheduled for July. The hospital's financial office gave us a written estimate of $1,450, and after what the public health scheme will pay we're still $1,100 short.
my sister has been in and out of Saint Matthew Hospital since May. The doctors say a thyroid nodule that needs removal will get worse without laparoscopic cyst removal. We have emptied our savings and borrowed from relatives, but the estimate of $1,450 is more than we can find.
While we wait, Neha struggles with daily life and can't climb stairs. Her family has taken turns caring for her, and I've cut my own work hours to be there.
The recovery period is expected to take about 7 weeks. During that time Neha won't be able to climb stairs, so the costs keep growing.

Sure. The biggest one is pre-operative tests and imaging, $95. The rest is in the list at the bottom of the post and I'll upload receipts as I pay each one. Fair thing to want to know.
