Restoring Jacaranda Creek: a volunteer-led project in Cầu Giấy
A neighborhood-led restoration of Jacaranda Creek needs $400 for saplings and equipment.
🇻🇳 Vietnam1,034 views
Jacaranda Creek has been used as an informal dump for years. This August, 95 neighbors turned up for a first cleanup, filling 52 bags in a single morning. Now we want to restore it for good.
We have a plan agreed with the municipal water board, including native species selected by a local botanist.
The area floods more each year, and fish have returned for the first time in a decade after our first cleanup. Restoring it will protect homes and bring back shade.
All the labor is volunteered. We just need materials.
Funds buy saplings, gloves, bags, hire of a skip, and signage.
Where the $400 goes:
• Native saplings and stakes: $175
• Tools and protective gear: $85
• Waste removal and skip hire: $90
• Signage and educational materials: $50
Please ask me anything in the questions section. I'll answer honestly and quickly.

Is there anything that isn't money that would help Kiên?
Thank you. If you're in Cầu Giấy I'll say if something practical comes up. For now sharing this is great. I'll keep the page updated.
Sending good thoughts, Kiên. Gave what I could, wish it was more. I hope November is when things finally get easier. Love from Mumbai.
hang in there, Kiên. Shared this with my family. Don't be hard on yourself for asking.
