Resettlement support for 4 people arriving in Sacramento
After fleeing Syria, the Petrenko family has arrived in Sacramento with little more than their documents. They need help with a deposit, furniture and the first months.

My family left Syria 5 months ago after our home was destroyed. We spent time in a camp before we were resettled in Sacramento. We're a family of four and we're safe, but we arrived with very little.
Our resettlement agency has provided 3 months of rent, and that support ends in December.
I was a nurse in Syria, and I'm studying the language every evening. Our daughter and son have started school and are doing well.
We want nothing more than to be self-sufficient. This fund will help us through the first six months.
All purchases will be documented and photos shared (with the family's consent).
Where the $3,300 goes:
• Rent deposit and first month: $2,250
• Winter clothing and school supplies: $310
• Phone and internet for school and job search: $280
• Language classes and bus passes: $460
I never thought I'd be the one asking, and I'm grateful for every bit of support.
