Xalapa
For twelve years the neighborhood has asked for a rainwater harvesting system. This year a group of 27 volunteers, including a group of teenagers, decided to stop waiting. The council has given permission for the old Union bus depot, but no funding. We have received donated tools, and the remaining cost is $800. It will serve about 127 people, including school children and their families. We'll hold a build day in August and everyone is invited. We're a small team, and every dollar will be spent in the open - I'll post receipts and progress photos. All purchases will be made by two volunteers and logged publicly. Surplus funds will go to maintenance. Where the $800 goes: • Permits and inspections: $125 • Materials: $630 • Safety equipment and signage: $45 I'll keep this page updated with receipts as things happen.

  • is permits and inspections the biggest cost or is there more coming?

Everything on the list is an amount I've been quoted or invoiced. permits and inspections comes first ($125) and I'll update the page as each thing gets paid. Thanks for asking.
