Rebuilding after the house fire that spread across the block: the Millbrook settlement needs your help
Neighbors in the Millbrook settlement are rebuilding after the house fire that spread across the block; every contribution goes to materials and supplies.

The house fire that spread across the block hit the Millbrook settlement on 8 August. My home was one of 42 damaged, and 11 families are still in temporary shelter at a borrowed warehouse.
The first few days we shared what little we had. Now the cleanup has started, but we've no money for materials and winter or the rainy season is coming.
Schools in the area have been closed, and the clinic lost its cold storage for vaccines. We're a small community of working families who have never asked for help before.
We have formed a volunteer committee, and I'm the treasurer, so I'll post receipts for everything we buy.
We buy supplies locally and in bulk, so the money goes further. Receipts and photos will be posted in updates.
Where the $700 goes:
• Roofing sheets and timber: $350
• Bedding, blankets and mattresses: $185
• Clean water and purification supplies: $165
You're what makes this possible, and I'll never forget it.

Is there anything that isn't money that would help Swapna?
Thank you. If you're in Surat I'll say if something practical comes up. For now sharing this is great. Let me know if you want more detail.
hang in there. Hope you get there. Our whole street has been following this since the weekend.
