Keep a roof over Aria's head in Newport

Newport
When the textile factory closed in August, I fell 3 months behind on rent. Last Saturday a 10-day notice to quit was taped to my door, and the amount I owe is $950. My landlord has been understanding for a while, but he has now been clear: if the arrears aren't cleared by November, we must leave. I've 4 children at home. Moving isn't just an expense - it would mean new schools, a new commute and no deposit to put down anywhere else. I have started working night deliveries, and I'm applying for help from local services, but nothing will arrive in time without the rest of the gap covered here. Funds go to the landlord and nowhere else. Any amount left over after the arrears are cleared will go toward next month's rent. Where the $950 goes: • Utilities in arrears: $115 • Late fees and court costs: $210 • First month of rent as a buffer: $625 You're what makes this possible, and I'll never forget it. - Aria

Updates from Aria

  1. Quick update: $319 raised so far (34%). I met with the landlord and confirmed the amounts. Receipts coming as soon as I have them.

  2. Thank you all. We're at 14% now ($129). I'm honestly stunned. we've started the first stage.

  3. Wanted to say thank you properly. 7% funded and the plan for first month of rent as a buffer is now scheduled.
