Plant 3,500 native trees around the Maple riverbank in Syracuse
A neighborhood-led restoration of the Maple riverbank needs $1,700 for saplings and equipment.

The Maple riverbank has been used as an informal dump for years. This August, 102 neighbors turned up for a first cleanup, filling 182 bags in a single morning. Now we want to restore it for good.
We have a plan agreed with the local forestry office, including native species selected by a local botanist.
The area floods more each year, and fish have returned for the first time in a decade after our first cleanup. Restoring it will protect homes and bring back shade.
All the labor is volunteered. We just need materials.
Funds buy saplings, gloves, bags, hire of a skip, and signage.
Where the $1,700 goes:
• Signage and educational materials: $170
• Waste removal and skip hire: $450
• Native saplings and stakes: $1,080
I'll pay this kindness forward the moment I'm able to.

So sorry you're going through this, Iván. Everyone deserves a bit of help sometimes. Our whole street has been following this since the weekend.
Good luck. Gave what I could, wish it was more. Love from Duisburg.
Sending love. Shared this with my family. I hope December is when things finally get easier. All the best.
Thinking of you, Iván. Your post was clear and honest. Wish I lived closer to Kingston so I could bring a meal. Thinking of Syracuse.
Looking forward to the next update. Greetings from Kakamega
Sending love, Iván. This could happen to any of us. Don't lose heart. A few weeks ago I was in a hole too and it changed faster than I expected. Blessings
