Surgery fund for Nicolas: ACL reconstruction in Strasbourg
A scheduled ACL reconstruction in December is out of reach without help covering $3,100 of the cost.

In August I was diagnosed with a thyroid nodule that needs removal. My surgeon at Strasbourg Orthopedic Institute recommended ACL reconstruction, and I have been placed on the schedule for December. The hospital's financial office gave me a written estimate of $5,250, and after what our health plan will pay, I'm still $3,100 short.
Doctors at Strasbourg Orthopedic Institute told me a thyroid nodule that needs removal will get worse without ACL reconstruction. I work as a warehouse packer, and I have saved what I can, but the estimate of $5,250 is far beyond what I've.
Until the surgery I can't work full days, and my hours as a warehouse packer have already been cut. Every week of waiting means more pain and a bigger risk.
Rehabilitation is expected to take about 3 weeks. I'll not be able to climb stairs during that time, so this has become a financial emergency as well as a medical one.
I'll pay the hospital and pharmacy directly and post every receipt in the updates section.
Where the $3,100 goes:
• Post-operative medication: $390
• Travel and lodging for the family: $140
• Hospital stay (5 nights): $2,250
• Physiotherapy sessions: $320
You're what makes this possible, and I'll never forget it.
