Friendly visitor needed for an 80-year-old neighbor in Cairo
Imad lives alone and has no family nearby; a weekly hour of conversation would transform the week.

I'm writing for my neighbor Imad, who's 80. Imad lives alone in Cairo, and lost a lifelong friend last year. The nearest family lives on the other side of the country.
Imad loves old films, and would enjoy someone to chat with. An hour a week, perhaps on Friday afternoon, would mean the world. We can also arrange a phone call if you can't visit in person.
All visitors will be introduced by me and I'll be there at the first meeting. I'll share references and, if you'd like, a short orientation from the local befriending charity.
No special skills are needed - just kindness and patience.
I'll keep this page updated with receipts as things happen.

So sorry you're going through this, Asma. Reading this made my day a bit heavier but I'm glad I did. My neighbor in Kingston donated after I showed her your page. Take care.
sending good thoughts, Asma. Wishing Imad a smooth procedure and a full recovery. Our whole street has been following this since the weekend.
Sending strength. Hope the doctors have good news. Love from Warsaw.
Rooting for you. Your post was clear and honest. Put this on a community board in Bangkok this morning.
wishing you the best. Your post was clear and honest. After 28 years in social work I know how hard it's to ask for anything. All the best
hang in there. It takes guts to ask. Well done. Don't lose heart. A few weeks ago I was in a hole too and it changed faster than I expected. Love from Pune.
