Plant 2,900 native trees around the Maple riverbank in Thủ Đức
Volunteers are restoring the Maple riverbank in Thủ Đức; $250 covers saplings, tools and waste removal.
🇻🇳 Hồ Chí Minh City, Vietnam850 views
The Maple riverbank has been used as an informal dump for years. This May, 42 neighbors turned up for a first cleanup, filling 138 bags in a single morning. Now we want to restore it for good.
We have a plan agreed with the local forestry office, including native species selected by a local botanist.
The area floods more each year, and fish have returned for the first time in a decade after our first cleanup. Restoring it will protect homes and bring back shade.
All the labor is volunteered. We just need materials.
Funds buy saplings, gloves, bags, hire of a skip, and signage.
Where the $250 goes:
• Signage and educational materials: $45
• Native saplings and stakes: $155
• Tools and protective gear: $50
Glad we found this place.

Best of luck. Shared it with a few friends. I have a 12 year old who wants to send good wishes too.

Praying for you, Uyên. Hope you get there. I went through something like this 7 years ago and strangers helped me out. All the best.
Hang in there, Uyên. Gave what I could, wish it was more.
