Plant 1,400 native trees around the Freedom hillside in Glendale
Help us clean and replant the Freedom hillside before the June planting window closes.
🇺🇸 Glendale, Arizona, United States2,207 views
The Freedom hillside has been used as an informal dump for years. This March, 67 neighbors turned up for a first cleanup, filling 129 bags in a single morning. Now we want to restore it for good.
We have a plan agreed with the municipal water board, including native species selected by a local botanist.
The area floods more each year, and fish have returned for the first time in a decade after our first cleanup. Restoring it will protect homes and bring back shade.
All the labor is volunteered. We just need materials.
Funds buy saplings, gloves, bags, hire of a skip, and signage.
Where the $3,000 goes:
• Native saplings and stakes: $1,800
• Tools and protective gear: $210
• Waste removal and skip hire: $680
• Signage and educational materials: $310
Thanks for being kind about this.

is there a list of costs somewhere? Just curious how it adds up for Juan.
Native saplings and stakes is $1,800 of it. Everything else is listed in the story and nothing outside that list comes out of this page. Ask me anything else.
Take care, Juan. This could happen to any of us. All the best.
This could happen to any of us. The breakdown of costs made it easy to trust. Greetings from București
