Pioneer Primary School needs a solar-powered water pump - Deepak's neighborhood project
A community-led a solar-powered water pump at Pioneer Primary School that will serve 288 neighbors.
🇮🇳 Madhya Pradesh, India754 views
For eight years the neighborhood has asked for a solar-powered water pump. This year a group of 14 volunteers, including a retired civil engineer, decided to stop waiting. The council has given permission for Pioneer Primary School, but no funding.
We have received donated a pump, and the remaining cost is $500.
It will serve about 288 people, including elderly neighbors living alone. We'll hold a build day in December and everyone is invited.
We're a small team, and every dollar will be spent in the open - I'll post receipts and progress photos.
Funds are spent only on materials, permits and safety equipment; all labor is volunteered.
Where the $500 goes:
• Materials: $340
• Permits and inspections: $50
• Safety equipment and signage: $50
• Tools hire and delivery: $60
I'll pay this kindness forward the moment I'm able to.

Keep going, Deepak. Shared it with a few friends. Don't lose heart. A few weeks ago I was in a hole too and it changed faster than I expected.
