For three years the neighborhood has asked for a covered market stall space. This year a group of 28 volunteers, including two retired carpenters, decided to stop waiting. The council has given permission for Pioneer Park, but no funding.
We have received donated a pump, and the remaining cost is $400.
It will serve about 199 people, including children, seniors and people with disabilities. We'll hold a build day in March and everyone is invited.
We're a small team, and every dollar will be spent in the open - I'll post receipts and progress photos.
All purchases will be made by two volunteers and logged publicly. Surplus funds will go to maintenance.
Where the $400 goes:
• Materials: $320
• Permits and inspections: $25
• Tools hire and delivery: $55
If you can't give, please share this page. It does reach people.
