Help Wafa keep the the Harvest Pantry pantry stocked
Help keep a free food pantry open for neighbors in need in Luxor.

Since 2020, our volunteer team has run the Harvest Pantry every Saturday from the back of a community center. We started with 16 families, and now we feed 342 each week.
Donations have dropped by about 36% this harvest gap, while the line has grown every single week.
We rely on volunteers - 7 of us - and keep no salaries or overhead. I buy staples at wholesale prices at the Luxor market and keep every receipt.
Each $5 feeds a family of four for a week.
I'll post the weekly shopping receipts and a photo of the shelves each Sunday.
Where the $450 goes:
• Rice, beans, flour and oil (wholesale): $155
• Fresh vegetables and fruit: $220
• Refrigeration and electricity: $75

Everything on the list is an amount I've been quoted or invoiced. rice, beans, flour and oil (wholesale) comes first ($155) and I'll update the page as each thing gets paid. Thanks for asking.
