Subramanian is the first person in the family to go to university. He is studying a computer science degree at Mumbai University, and is two terms away from graduating. He has worked as a barista to pay the way, but this term the hours were cut and there's an unpaid balance of $400. The registrar has said Subramanian can't enroll for the next term until the balance is cleared. Subramanian has a 3.8 average, and a department head has written in support. Graduating means a stable job and the chance to support the younger siblings. Without enrolling this term Subramanian would lose his place and scholarship eligibility. Subramanian isn't asking for a handout - He wants to finish what He started and help the next student. Everything raised goes to the university's accounts office toward the outstanding balance and the final term's fees. Where the $400 goes: • Final term tuition: $350 • Textbooks and materials: $25 • Exam and lab fees: $25 Even a small gift gets used right away and I'll thank you myself. - Padma
