Let's build a playground together in Swansea
A community-led a playground at Acacia Park that will serve 179 neighbors.

For ten years the neighborhood has asked for a playground. This year a group of 15 volunteers, including two retired carpenters, decided to stop waiting. The council has given permission for Acacia Park, but no funding.
We have received donated timber, and the remaining cost is $2,300.
It will serve about 179 people, including local farmers and market traders. We'll hold a build day in May and everyone is invited.
We're a small team, and every dollar will be spent in the open - I'll post receipts and progress photos.
All purchases will be made by two volunteers and logged publicly. Surplus funds will go to maintenance.
Where the $2,300 goes:
• Materials: $1,400
• Permits and inspections: $320
• Safety equipment and signage: $290
• Tools hire and delivery: $290
I never thought I'd be the one asking, and I'm grateful for every bit of support.
