Metin is the first person in the family to go to university. He is studying a nursing degree at Bornova University, and is one semester away from graduating. He has worked as a delivery rider to pay the way, but this term the hours were cut and there's an unpaid balance of $850.
The registrar has said Metin can't enroll for the next term until the balance is cleared. Metin has a 3.8 average, and a department head has written in support.
Graduating means a stable job and the chance to support the younger siblings. Without enrolling this term Metin would lose his place and scholarship eligibility.
Metin isn't asking for a handout - He wants to finish what He started and help the next student.
Everything raised goes to the university's accounts office toward the outstanding balance and the final term's fees.
