Henry is the first person in the family to go to university. He is studying an accounting degree at Los Angeles Community College, and is one term away from graduating. He has worked as a barista to pay the way, but this term the hours were cut and there's an unpaid balance of $4,300.
The registrar has said Henry can't enroll for the next term until the balance is cleared. Henry has a 3.8 average, and a faculty supervisor has written in support.
Graduating means a stable job and the chance to support the younger siblings. Without enrolling this term Henry would lose his place and scholarship eligibility.
Henry isn't asking for a handout - He wants to finish what He started and help the next student.
Everything raised goes to the university's accounts office toward the outstanding balance and the final term's fees.
