Without my tuk-tuk Malathi can't work; a $300 repair would put her back on the road.

I make my living with my tuk-tuk. 7 weeks ago the clutch assembly failed, and the mechanic says the repair will cost $300. Without the vehicle I earn nothing. I have been borrowing from friends to pay rent, and now I have run out of people to ask. I support my wife and our newborn. Before the breakdown I worked twelve hours a day, six days a week. I have been offered extra shifts for the next three months if I can just get the vehicle working. I have a written estimate from a certified mechanic and will upload it here. I'll pay the mechanic directly and show you the repaired vehicle in an update. Where the $300 goes: • clutch assembly replacement (parts): $195 • Labor charges: $35 • Road tax and insurance renewal: $45 • Towing and inspection: $25 I hope life is good to you. - Malathi

  • How is Malathi doing now?

    • Thinking of you and your family. Reading this made my day a bit heavier but I'm glad I did. We had a similar scare last year, I know what it feels like. Greetings from Lalitpur

      • Thinking of you. It takes guts to ask. Well done. I went through something like this 10 years ago and strangers helped me out. Love from Hyderabad.

        • Shared it with a few friends. We're a small family in Los Angeles but we're thinking of you
