Need strong backs and a van: moving Anaïs to safer housing
A short, concrete way to help: a few hours of lifting and loading in Toronto.

After a break-in at the old place, I found a safe, affordable apartment in Toronto, and the lease starts on Saturday. I have three kids, a few pieces of furniture and no money for movers.
I'm hoping for four volunteers for about six hours. If you have a van or pickup, that would help enormously - I'll cover fuel.
The old place is on the fourth floor walk-up and the new place has just one flight of stairs. We'll do it in two trips. Lunch and cold drinks are on me.
I know this is a lot to ask of strangers. I'd be happy to share references from my landlord and my employer.
I never thought I'd be the one asking, and I'm grateful for every bit of support.

Wishing you peace. Everyone deserves a bit of help sometimes. I have a 12 year old who wants to send good wishes too. Love from Kingston!
I was in a similar spot a few years ago and it did get better. After 6 years in farming I know how hard it's to ask for anything. Greetings from Bengaluru
It takes guts to ask. Well done. I went through something like this 9 years ago and strangers helped me out. Thinking of Toronto.
Take care, Anaïs. Shared it with a few friends. Don't lose heart. A few weeks ago I was in a hole too and it changed faster than I expected. Greetings from Cape Town
thinking of you, Anaïs. Shared this with my family.
