We have the land, the volunteers and the plan for a playground - we need $850 for materials.

For ten years the neighborhood has asked for a playground. This year a group of 14 volunteers, including two retired carpenters, decided to stop waiting. The council has given permission for the old Baobab bus depot, but no funding. We have received donated volunteer hours worth about $690, and the remaining cost is $850. It will serve about 231 people, including school children and their families. We'll hold a build day in October and everyone is invited. We're a small team, and every dollar will be spent in the open - I'll post receipts and progress photos. All purchases will be made by two volunteers and logged publicly. Surplus funds will go to maintenance. Where the $850 goes: • Tools hire and delivery: $220 • Safety equipment and signage: $270 • Permits and inspections: $360 If you're reading this, thank you. - Roman
