Dayton

For eight years the neighborhood has asked for a youth football pitch. This year a group of 12 volunteers, including two retired carpenters, decided to stop waiting. The council has given permission for the Liberty health centre yard, but no funding. We have received donated paint, and the remaining cost is $2,850. It will serve about 175 people, including elderly neighbors living alone. We'll hold a build day in May and everyone is invited. We're a small team, and every dollar will be spent in the open - I'll post receipts and progress photos. Funds are spent only on materials, permits and safety equipment; all labor is volunteered. Where the $2,850 goes: • Materials: $1,700 • Permits and inspections: $390 • Safety equipment and signage: $175 • Tools hire and delivery: $585 I never thought I'd be the one asking, and I'm grateful for every bit of support. - Ritu

Praying for you, Ritu. This could happen to any of us. We're a small family in Bristol but we're thinking of you.
