Volunteer day: Refugee Welcome Picnic, Fresno
We are short of hands for the Refugee Welcome Picnic; can you spare a morning?
🇺🇸 Fresno, California, United States1,248 views
Every year the Refugee Welcome Picnic brings together 484 neighbors in Fresno. I help organize it with 4 other volunteers, and this year our numbers are down.
We need people for set-up, serving, translation and clean-up. Shifts are four hours long and you can pick the one that suits you. Food and drinks are provided for all volunteers.
It's a fun day for all ages, and our goal is to keep it free. No experience is necessary - we'll brief everyone at the start of the day.
If you can come with a friend, even better. Please say in the comments which shift works for you.
Thank you for reading my story.

You're not alone, Kyung-soo. I've been in a tough spot myself and it does get easier. My daughter saw me on my phone and now she wants to give her pocket money.
Thinking of you, Kyung-soo. Projects like this are what make a place worth living in. It's not much but it's yours.
it takes guts to ask. Well done. This is the second need I've supported on here and the first that made me cry. God bless
Stay strong. Shared it with a few friends. Thinking of Fresno
