Ivy has been on dialysis for 2 years and until recently drove to the London Dialysis Unit alone. After a foot amputation, Ivy can no longer drive. Taxis cost more than the family can pay three times a week. We're building a rota of volunteer drivers. Each session is 4 hours, including the trip there and back; most volunteers take one regular day. The journey is about 15 km each way. Ivy is cheerful company. You'd need a car in good condition and a clean driving record. We'll cover your fuel costs, and the family will send you home with homemade food. Please say which day works for you in the comments. I never thought I'd be the one asking, and I'm grateful for every bit of support.

  • Praying for you. Look after yourselves too, caregivers need rest. Thinking of London

    • Thinking of you, Raymond. Reading this made my day a bit heavier but I'm glad I did. My brother had a similar thing happen so this one hit home.

thanks for sharing this, Raymond. Reading this made my day a bit heavier but I'm glad I did. Don't be hard on yourself for asking.

        • I've been in a tough spot myself and it does get easier. We lost years of savings to something like this so I get it. Love from Columbia

wishing Ivy a smooth procedure and a full recovery. My neighbor in Embakasi donated after I showed her your page.
