Zainab was diagnosed with acute lymphoblastic leukemia in July. The oncology team at the Gujranwala Oncology Institute has planned 6 rounds of treatment, starting in October. She will be away from work for about 4 weeks. Zainab is 48, worked as a bank teller until July, and has always been the one who looks after everyone else. Now it's our turn to look after her. Treatment is covered only in part. Medication that isn't on the approved list, trips to the Gujranwala Oncology Institute 4 times a week, and the income the family has lost add up quickly. We've already sold what we could and have begun borrowing for groceries. Every kindness from you takes weight off her shoulders. Funds will be used only for treatment, medication, transport to appointments and essential living costs during treatment. Where the $700 goes: • Transport to the Gujranwala Oncology Institute: $115 • Chemotherapy and medication not covered: $410 • Scans and lab work: $175 Even a small gift gets used right away and I'll thank you myself.

  • Best of luck, Laiba. I've been in a tough spot myself and it does get easier. My neighbor in Nairobi donated after I showed her your page. Thinking of Gujranwala.

    • I hope things turn around soon. Put this on a community board in Auckland this morning. All the best!

      • Good luck, Laiba. I've been in a tough spot myself and it does get easier. Wish I lived closer to Adama so I could bring a meal. Blessings.
