A skate park for Unity Primary School: help our neighbors in Mumbai
We have the land, the volunteers and the plan for a skate park - we need $350 for materials.
🇮🇳 India1,531 views
For ten years the neighborhood has asked for a skate park. This year a group of 13 volunteers, including two retired carpenters, decided to stop waiting. The council has given permission for Unity Primary School, but no funding.
We have received donated timber, and the remaining cost is $350.
It will serve about 143 people, including local farmers and market traders. We'll hold a build day in November and everyone is invited.
We're a small team, and every dollar will be spent in the open - I'll post receipts and progress photos.
Funds are spent only on materials, permits and safety equipment; all labor is volunteered.
Where the $350 goes:
• Materials: $260
• Permits and inspections: $40
• Safety equipment and signage: $35
• Tools hire and delivery: $15

Gave what I could, wish it was more. Sent it to 26 people at work. All the best
is there a list of costs somewhere? Just curious how it adds up for Tanvi
It's all in the list in the story. materials is the big one at $260, I'll post a receipt when it's paid. Good question.
So sorry you're going through this, Tanvi. Great idea, hope you get there.
Thanks for sharing this, Tanvi. I've been in a tough spot myself and it does get easier. Wish I lived closer to Haarlem so I could bring a meal
