I'm the first person in my family to go to university. I'm studying an accounting degree at Pittsburgh Community College, and I'm one term away from graduating. I have worked as a shop assistant to pay my way, but this term my hours were cut and I have an unpaid balance of $6,150. The registrar has told me I can't enroll for the next term until the balance is cleared. I have a top-ten-percent average, and my department head has written in support of my application for a payment plan. Graduating means a stable job and the chance to support my younger siblings. Without enrolling this term I'd lose my place and my scholarship eligibility. I'm not asking for a handout - I want to finish what I started and then help the next student. Everything raised goes to the university's accounts office toward the outstanding balance and the final term's fees. Where the $6,150 goes: • Outstanding tuition balance: $2,700 • Final term tuition: $2,950 • Exam and lab fees: $310 • Textbooks and materials: $190 Every share and every dollar helps. - Lucía

is there a list of costs somewhere? Just curious how it adds up for Lucía.

          • Lucía F. GonzálezOwnerAnswer

Sure. The biggest one is outstanding tuition balance, $2,700. The rest is in the list at the bottom of the post and I'll upload receipts as I pay each one. Thanks for asking.

Hope this works out for you. My neighbor had a similar thing happen so this one hit home. Thinking of Pittsburgh.
