I'm the first person in my family to go to university. I'm studying an agriculture degree at Mukono Polytechnic, and I'm two terms away from graduating. I have worked as a warehouse packer to pay my way, but this term my hours were cut and I have an unpaid balance of $200. The registrar has told me I can't enroll for the next term until the balance is cleared. I have a 3.8 average, and my professor has written in support of my application for a payment plan. Graduating means a stable job and the chance to support my younger siblings. Without enrolling this term I'd lose my place and my scholarship eligibility. I'm not asking for a handout - I want to finish what I started and then help the next student. The payment will go directly to the Mukono Polytechnic bursar's office. I'll post the receipt. Where the $200 goes: • Textbooks and materials: $15 • Final term tuition: $125 • Exam and lab fees: $60 If you can't give, please share this page. It does reach people. - Imani

  • Gave what I could, wish it was more. My colleague had a similar thing happen so this one hit home. God bless.

is there a list of costs somewhere? Just curious how it adds up for Imani.

Textbooks and materials is $15 of it. Everything else is listed in the story and nothing outside that list comes out of this page. Fair thing to want to know.
