Hathai is facing acute lymphoblastic leukemia and the cost of treatment, travel and care at home is far beyond what the family can cover.

Hathai was diagnosed with acute lymphoblastic leukemia in August. The oncology team at Phuket University Hospital has planned 12 rounds of treatment, starting in November. She will be away from work for about 7 weeks. Hathai is 46, worked as a hairdresser until August, and has always been the one who looks after everyone else. Now it's our turn to look after her. Treatment is covered only in part. Medication that isn't on the approved list, trips to Phuket University Hospital 5 times a week, and the income the family has lost add up quickly. We've already sold what we could and have begun borrowing for groceries. Every kindness from you takes weight off her shoulders. Funds will be used only for treatment, medication, transport to appointments and essential living costs during treatment. Where the $2,500 goes: • Transport to Phuket University Hospital: $210 • Scans and lab work: $450 • Chemotherapy and medication not covered: $1,840 Whatever you can give, even just sharing this page, means a lot. - Prasert

Hope the treatment goes smoothly and recovery is quick. Don't lose heart. A few weeks ago I was in a hole too and it changed faster than I expected.

      how is Hathai doing now?

      • hope the treatment goes smoothly and recovery is quick. It's not much but it's yours.

        • Hang in there. Look after yourselves too, caregivers need rest. Wish I lived closer to Nagoya so I could bring a meal. All the best.
