Margaret was diagnosed with a hip fracture that never healed properly in November. The surgeon at Kasarani University Hospital recommended septoplasty, and She is scheduled for December. The hospital's financial office gave us a written estimate of $1,050, and after what the public health scheme will pay we're still $800 short.
my mother has been in and out of Kasarani University Hospital since November. The doctors say a hip fracture that never healed properly will get worse without septoplasty. We have emptied our savings and borrowed from relatives, but the estimate of $1,050 is more than we can find.
While we wait, Margaret struggles with daily life and can't stand for more than ten minutes. Her family has taken turns caring for her, and I've cut my own work hours to be there.
Rehabilitation is expected to take about 12 weeks. During that time Margaret won't be able to stand for more than ten minutes, so the costs keep growing.
